
This rider comes with whole life or Universal a Term insurance. In case you are diagnosed permanently disabled, you would never pay your insurance anymore.



Chronic Illness Rider Allows early payment of part of the death benefit if the insured becomes chronically ill. Definition: Inability to perform 2+ Activities of Daily Living for ≥90 days or severe cognitive impairment. Steps: File claim → Medical certification → Choose benefit amount → Receive lump sum (tax-free under §101(g)) → Remaining death benefit reduced.

Terminal Illness Rider Pays part of the death benefit early if the insured is diagnosed with a condition expected to cause death within 24 months (12 months in some states). Steps: Apply after diagnosis → Verification → Advance 50–80% of death benefit → Remaining balance to beneficiaries (reduced by the accelerated amount). No premium charged.



Critical Illness Rider Provides access to part of the death benefit upon diagnosis of a listed severe illness such as heart attack, stroke, cancer, major transplant, paralysis, or ALS. Steps: Physician certifies illness → File claim → Actuarial discount applied → Lump-sum paid (tax-free if eligible) → Remaining death benefit reduced.

Critical Injury Rider Pays a portion of the death benefit if the insured suffers a qualifying injury such as coma, paralysis, severe burns, or traumatic brain injury. Steps: File claim → Medical proof → Possible waiting period → Discounted lump-sum payment → Remaining benefit reduced. Lifetime acceleration cap typically $1M (minimum $500K).
Optional Riders that Come With Additional Fee to Your Coverage
Those riders are optional riders if you want them to add to your coverage you need to pay a monthly low fee in addition to your monthly premium. They are several but let us mention two (2) of them which are Guaranteed Insurability Rider (GIR) and Waiver of Premium (WMD / WSP).
Guaranteed Insurability Rider (GIR) Allows the policyholder to increase coverage later without new medical evidence. Designed for younger buyers anticipating future needs. Waiver of Premium (WMD / WSP) Waives certain policy costs if the insured becomes totally disabled. Options: WMD – waives monthly deductions, expenses, and mortality charges.
